This page is dedicated to the memory of our fallen brothers everywhere and especially to the officers from our own community.
The members of the Cornwall on Hudson Police Department fully recognize the dedication, commitment to service and ultimate sacrifice paid by these men and their families.

January 2013 - It is with deep and sincere regret to inform of the passing of Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Officer, Michael Lug following a courageous battle with cancer. Officer Lug served with the Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department for over 20 years, he also served as an Officer with the Town of Marlborough, NY Police Department as well.
Officer Lug was truly dedicated to his job as a Police Officer and served it well. Mike was a Master Instructor where he taught several police topics at the Orange County Police Academy. Mike was also very involved in Orange County “STOP DWI” training and awareness throughout the County.
As well as being a Police Officer Mike was also a Teacher in the Cornwall Central School District for over 40 years. Mike was excellent at his craft and was well known and respected in the Community for his work as a teacher. All you had to do was mention Mike's name within the community and someone would mention that they either had Mike as a teacher or knew someone that had Mike as a teacher.
Mike leaves behind his wife Jean, son’s Jeremy and Matthew and two grandsons.
