or People may use the mail slot (marked “BILLS”) located on the side of Village Hall to make payments on water bills during and after business hours, including weekends and holidays.
Beginning on July 15, 2024, the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson will transition your water utility bill issuance date to the 15th of each odd-numbered month of the year rather than your current schedule. This will result in the following water billing schedule throughout the year for your account: January 15th, March 15th, May 15th, July 15th, September 15th, and November 15th. This change is being undertaken to bring all Town and Village bi-monthly water utility billing customers under the same billing schedule.
Your next water utility bill will be issued on July 15, 2024. This bill will be issued based on a shorter water consumption period than normal. Depending on whether you are located in the Town of Cornwall or the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson, this shorter period will vary from 30 to 45 days rather than the normal 60-day period. All future bills will be for the standard 60-day period
With your July 15th water bill, we will transition from the postcard-style bill format to a full-size statement billing format. This new format will allow us to inform you of your water consumption better and communicate important information about the water system to you.
We are also changing the address of where to send your payment. Using this new remittance address will allow for the processing of your payment by our bank without delay. While in-person payments will still be accepted at Village Hall, we encourage those wishing to pay by check to mail in their payment using the self-addressed remittance envelope that will be included with your billing statement. The new remittance address will be:
Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson PO Box 5421 Deptford, New Jersey 08096
When submitting your utility bill payment by check via the US Mail, we ask that you be sure to include the payment coupon that is located at the bottom of the new billing statement. Should you have multiple accounts and wish to pay with a single check, you must include all payment coupons for which you are making payments. This will ensure that the proper accounts are credited with the payment. If you use your banking institution’s “Bill Pay” service, please ensure that you have updated your Water Bill account number with them.
As our customer, you have two manners in which you may receive your water bill from us. You may choose to continue receiving a paper copy of your bill through the US Mail or choose to go “Paperless” and receive your bill electronically via email. To go paperless please visit the homepage of our website www.cornwall-on-hudson.org and click on the “Pay My Utility Bill" button to register your account. In addition to choosing to receive your water bill electronically, you will also be able to view, pay, and print a paper copy of your bill if needed for any reason.
Recently our staff completed a project that allows you, our valued customer, to monitor your water consumption from any internet-enabled device. Registering your account is easy, fast, and free.
