NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING: 220 Bay View Avenue, Cornwall-on-Hudson


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as can be heard on said date, at the Village Hall, located at 325 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York, 12520 regarding an application by Andrew Farina and Emily Farina, both as owners/applicants, for variances from and §172-7(C) and §172-43(C) the Village Zoning Code (the “Code”) to allow the construction of a 12’ x 31’ inground swimming pool requesting a 4.0’ side yard setback when the Code requires a setback of 20 feet. The property is situated at Section 112, Block 1, Lot 16.22 in the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson, said lot also being known as 220 Bay View Avenue. The property is located in the CR-1 (Conservation Residential) Zoning District.

The Zoning Board of Appeals will consider all verbal and/or written statements from all persons interested in the proposed variances at the above time and place. Copies of the variance application, Environmental Assessment Form, plans and any other information submitted in support of the variance application are available for review at the Code Enforcement Office located at 50 Shore Road, during normal business hours.

The Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson will make every effort to assure that the hearing is accessible to persons with disabilities. Anyone requiring special assistance and/or reasonable accommodations should contact the Village Clerk.

  • Donahue Memorial Park: Parking & Boat Launch Permits
    While Village Hall doors are closed during the pandemic, people can obtain parking and boat launch permits through the mail. Parking Permit Application forms are located on the Village website under the tab for Village Clerk. You can return the application form, a copy of the vehicle and/or trailer registration, and fee in an envelope and place in the drop box marked “BILLS” on the parking lot side of Village Hall.
    Day Passes are available at Village Hall and several Village businesses including Village Pizza (845-534-3600).
    Visitors may also obtain Day Passes through the ParkMobile App, which is available by cell phone. Village police can monitor whether a car has a pass by checking the car’s license plate.
    Parking is allowed only in designated spaces. Cars without permits or passes are subject to ticketing and towing. When a car is towed, the driver should call the Town of Cornwall dispatcher (845-534-8100) to request that a Village Police Officer contact him/her.
    Cornwall-on-Hudson encourages people outside of the greater Cornwall area to use their parks during the pandemic.
  • The Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department has placed, "Please Maintain 6 Foot Social Distancing At All Times", signs at all local open businesses within the Village. Maintaining a safe distance of at least 6 feet from one another can help prevent the further spread of the Coronavirus. On behalf of the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department, "Please Stay Safe and Healthy!"
