The Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson is excited to introduce its electronic utility bill (e-Bill) to enable our customers to ‘Go Paperless’. e-Billing will be available to all of our customers beginning May 28, 2021.
The e-Bill is an electronic version of your Village Utility Bill and will be e-mailed directly to registered customers enrolled in our e-Bill program. Customers may sign up for e-Bills using the link on the home page or below.
The benefits of using our e-Bill system are:
To enroll, customers need to visit the Village website at www.cornwall-on-hudson.org and click on the “Pay My Utility Bill” button on the home page. You then will need to provide your house/building number, your entire account number (ex. 009021-000) and e-mail address. Once enrolled customers may choose to no longer receive paper bills and receive their monthly e-Bill via their registered email address. This will ensure that all of our customers receive their utility bill in a timely and secure manner.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office at (845) 534-4200 Ext. 312 or email wateradmin@cornwall-on-hudson.org. We are excited to be able to provide this new e-Bill opportunity to you and for its successful implementation.

Dear Village Folks:
The white stuff keeps coming down and our public works guys keep clearing it away. Dave Halvorsen and his crew are doing a great job. So many hours, so many safe streets and sidewalks. Thank you!
Our next Village Board meeting is at 7 p.m. Monday, February 22, by teleconference. Among items on the agenda is the approval of the purchase of the Donahue Farm property.
The Police Reform Committee will hold its fifth and last meeting at 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, via teleconference. The committee will review its latest draft report before sending it to the Village Board. The report is on our website. The Village Board must send its report to Albany by April 1.
We often get inquiries about online payment of utility bills (garbage, sewer and water). I’m happy to report that online payment is coming! Several staff members and I will be involved in a training session next week. We don’t have a launch date yet, but we will let you know as soon as we can.
Have a good weekend!
All the best,
Brendan Coyne
Mayor

I’m happy to confirm that online payment of utility bills (water, sewer and garbage) will begin in April. More details will be available soon.
The board passed the Police Reform Plan at its March 8 Work Session. The board made a few minor changes. I sent the plan to Albany the next day. Again, thanks to the members of the committee.
We also discussed the proposed short-term rental law at the work session and suggested some changes. We hope to post the proposed law next week. The Public Hearing on the proposed law will be postponed to our April 19 Business Meeting.
The Village Election is Tuesday, March 16, from noon to 9 p.m. at Village Hall.
Enjoy the spring-like weather and have a good weekend.
Dear Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson friends and residents,
Hoping you are all enjoying the warm Spring temperatures and seeing all the blooms on the trees along Hudson Street. Just a couple of items to put on your radar:
After sixteen years of usage, it was time to replace and refurbish the dock planking and provide our boat dock at Donahue Memorial Park with a bit of tender loving care. See the attached photographs of the newly reinstalled dock. It’s safer and much more aesthetically pleasing. Make sure you thank a Department of Public Works employee when next you see one of them.
Speaking of the park, the Village Board will vote next Monday at the April business meeting to codify the fee schedule for reservations of Village park properties and facilities. This means that the new pavilion will soon be available to rent for your event. Stay tuned for posted details.
Finally, today opens Summer Camp registration (9:00 a.m.) through the Town’s new online registration site: cornwall.recdesk.com. You may also take advantage of in-person registration at Rec. Department (located at Munger Cottage). Payment online available via credit card and if in person, options include cash, check, or credit card payment. Contact Laura Kirby of Phyllis Murphy at the Town of Cornwall Rec. Department at (845) 534-2070 with any questions.
On behalf of your Village Board,
James A. “Jimmy” Gagliano Mayor
is updating its Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and released an online survey to understand the needs and issues facing the County’s residents, businesses, and visitors when they drive, use transit, walk, bike, or move freight and goods. With over 100 unique responses, we just wanted to say, we heard you! Now, we would like to know more. We are seeking public input on concerning highway corridors + possible future transit and bike/ped corridors.
To take a brief survey about specific corridors and provide your input, visit http://sgiz.mobi/s3/6d48bb415acb. The survey link will be active through September 30, 2019.

Village Folks:
The Village is handling COVID-19 well. We are fortunate to have caring residents and dedicated employees. Contact us at 534-4200 or info@cornwall-on-hudson.org for Village business.
My thanks to Storm King Fire Engine Company for helping the Easter Bunny tour the Village on Easter Sunday - for making us smile and lifting our spirits. The teachers and staff at Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary are tentatively planning to have a car parade throughout the Village at 2:30 Friday, April 24.
In case you haven’t heard, St. Thomas and the Cornwall Presbyterian Church in the Village, and other churches in the Town of Cornwall, are holding services online.
Following the installation of the new gas lines, repairs to Hudson Street will begin Monday, April 20. Be aware of changes in traffic patterns and parking.
We still don’t know when the Village election, originally scheduled for March 18, will be held. As I mentioned last week, the annual re-organization meeting, which generally occurs the first Monday in April, must take place after the election. Until then the Village is holding over all current officials, both elected and appointed.
The Village Board will hold its monthly Business Meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, April 20, a virtual meeting, as it did its March 23 meeting. The public may watch and speak during public hearing and public comment segments. Directions on how to participate will be available through the Village’s Facebook page and website (www.cornwall-on-hudson.org). I ask that if you do wish to speak, please be brief and understand the unusual format. And remember, you can always call or email me.
Of course, health professionals and first responders are always on our minds in times like this and we thank them for their sacrifices. Let’s also be grateful to our farmers, farmworkers and food preparers.
As you have probably heard, Governor Cuomo has issued an executive order that we must wear masks in public when are unable to maintain the distance of six feet. And he has extended the pause button until Friday, May 15.
So, let’s keep on keeping on. Let’s remember our families, friends and neighbors and lend a hand, or an ear, during these tough times.
Stay healthy!
Brendan G. Coyne
