The Annual Cornwall-on-Hudson village yard sale will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 rain or shine. It will run from 9 am to 4 pm and is open to all village residents. There is no fee to participate in the yard sale. Any questions, contact Barbara Gosda at 854-534-9367.

Residential Fall Bulk Cleanup

Monday, October 18, 2021

Items are to be put at curbside after 5:30 p.m. Sunday, October 17, 2021 according to  Section 88-4 of the Village Code.

 

Permitted Items (in separate piles)

Appliances & Other Metal: Refrigerators (with doors removed), stoves, washers, dryers, etc. (limit: 1 per household).

Bicycles: Tires must be removed from rims.

Brush: Must be tied into bundles, no longer than 6 feet in length, weighing no more than 25 pounds (loose brush will not be picked up).

Electronics: NO COMPUTER TOWERS,  NO MONITORS  NO TELEVISIONS

Leaves & Twigs: Must be in cardboard boxes, cans or bio-degrad­able paper bags, weighing no more than 25 pounds.

Lumber: Must not exceed 6 feet in length, weighing no more than 25 pounds.

Latex Paint Cans: Must be empty with lids off or filled with drying agent to absorb paint.

Other Items: Such as furniture and household items, metal.

 

Prohibited Items

NO Demolition/construction Materials (including lumber from construction sites or   contractor cleanup).

NO Hazardous/toxic Liquids and Materials  

NO TELEVISIONS

NO COMPUTER MONITORS

NO COMPUTER TOWERS

NO Propane Tanks

NO Tires (Newburgh Transfer Station will accept tires).

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Village Board of the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson will hold a public hearing on October 18, 2021 at 7:01 P.M., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard at Village Hall, 325 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York 12520 on a proposed local law opting out of allowing cannabis dispensaries and on-site cannabis consumption establishments in the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson.  

              A copy of the proposed local law is available for review at the Clerk’s Office located in Village Hall at the address listed above, during normal business hours and on the Village website.  Written comments may be submitted prior to or at the public hearing.  Oral comments may be made at the public hearing.  Persons may appear in person or by agent.  The Village Board is the Lead Agency pursuant to the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) for this Unlisted Action.  

            The Village of Cornwall-on Hudson will make every effort to assure that the Public Hearing is accessible to persons with disabilities.  Anyone requiring special assistance and/or reasonable accommodations should contact the Village Clerk.

“COFFEE WITH A COP” EVENT

 

On Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 1:00pm till 3:00pm, the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department will be sponsoring a ,”Coffee with a Cop,” event which will be held at the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Board Room, 325 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y.

This is an opportunity for residents to meet and speak with both veteran COHPD police officers, newer COHPD officers and COHPD Chief of Police, Steve Dixon, and obtain information about the Department as well as voice any concerns that you may have.

There will be police vehicles on display, tours of Cornwall-on-Hudson PD Headquarters available for children and giveaways/ handouts for guests.  

The Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department would like to formally thank,

2 Alice’s Coffee Shop, for donating the coffee for this event.

Donahue Memorial Park: Paring & Boat Launch Permits
  • Parking and boat launch permits may also be obtained through the mail. Parking Permit Application forms are located on the Village website under the tab for Village Clerk. You can return the application form, a copy of the vehicle and/or trailer registration, and fee in an envelope and place in the drop box marked “BILLS” on the parking lot side of Village Hall or drop off during regular business hours.
  • Day Passes are available at Village Hall and several Village businesses including Village Pizza (845-534-3600) and 2 Alices.
    Visitors may also obtain Day Passes through the ParkMobile App, which is available by cell phone. Village police can monitor whether a car has a pass by checking the car’s license plate.
    Parking is allowed only in designated spaces. Cars without permits or passes are subject to ticketing and towing. When a car is towed, the driver should call the Town of Cornwall dispatcher (845-534-8100) to request that a Village Police Officer contact him/her.
